Fredonia is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Olean is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hillbillies will welcome the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Fredonia put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They never let Jamestown get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Hillbillies, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Danielle Palisin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jenna Fryberger was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Muck, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Fredonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Olean was able to grind out a solid victory over Allegany-Limestone on Tuesday, taking the game 10-6.
Like Fredonia, Olean also got a great game from a two-way player: Emma Edwards. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Edwards was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Riley Sudbrook was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Allison Anastasia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Olean's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Fredonia, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fredonia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Olean struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fredonia was able to grind out a solid win over Olean when the teams last played back in April, winning 8-5. Will the Hillbillies repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
