The Coolidge Bears won the last time they faced the Vista Grande Spartans, and things went their way on Thursday too. Coolidge enjoyed a cozy 72-53 win over Vista Grande. Given Coolidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Vista Grande is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ja'kwan Jordan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bojorquez, who scored 19 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Coolidge and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Vista Grande, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.
Coolidge won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ogallala at 5:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Ogallala has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 585 points over their last eight contests. Vista Grande will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crismon at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Hopefully Crismon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
