The Walnut Grove Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the McKinney North Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Walnut Grove's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
It was a proper cat-fight when Walnut Grove took on Sherman on Friday. Everything went Walnut Grove's way against Sherman as Walnut Grove made off with a 15-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lyndsey Hooker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.
In other pitching news, Naomi Redman looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Kailee James and Vivian McKernan did most of the damage at the plate: James fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2, while McKernan went 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave McKernan a new career-high in RBI. Penelope Robles was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Walnut Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sherman only posted an OBP of .167.
McKinney North had taken Denison down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. McKinney North lost 19-7 to Denison. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Walnut Grove's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for McKinney North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
