After flying high against the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs last Friday, The Harrison Panthers came back down to earth. Harrison took a serious blow against Pueblo South on Thursday, falling 40-7. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Harrison couldn't push the score so high this time.
When it comes to explaining why Harrison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darion Marion. Despite the final result, he rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown. Marion's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Even if they lost, Harrison's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Phillip Pogue and his two sacks.
Pueblo South found their leader in underclassman Chace Hurley, who rushed for 253 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Jake Pisciotta also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Harrison has fallen quite a ways from their 8-3 record last season and are now at 1-7. As for Pueblo South, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Harrison will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Pueblo Central at 7:00 p.m. Pueblo Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Pueblo South, they will challenge Pueblo Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pueblo Centennial comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
