After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Garden County, the Creek Valley Storm were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Minatare by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35. That's another feather in the cap for Creek Valley, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Creek Valley found their leader in underclassman Lane Brenneman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Brenneman has scored at least a third of Creek Valley's points.
Creek Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. As for Minatare, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creek Valley will take on the Blue Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Minatare, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Banner County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Saturday.
