The D.C. Everest Evergreens can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 77-71 win over Mosinee. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mosinee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keagen Jirschele, who scored 24 points along with five steals. Jirschele is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landen Thomer, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
D.C. Everest's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Mosinee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-3.
D.C. Everest will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stevens Point presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Evergreens in Wisconsin (the Panthers are ranked ninth, while the Evergreens are ranked 160th). As for Mosinee, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Red Robins at 7:15 p.m.
