Basketball Game Preview: Tucson High Magnet School Badgers vs. Rincon/University Rangers

Tucson High Magnet School is 10-0 against Rincon/University since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tucson High Magnet School Badgers will host the Rincon/University Rangers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tucson High Magnet School has four straight victories, Rincon/University has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Tucson High Magnet School beats Rincon/University with 64 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Tucson High Magnet School strolled past Sunnyside with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 64-48. Given the Badgers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malaki Cunningham-Hiadzi continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 12 en route to 21 points and seven boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Tavion Okougbo was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Rincon/University was beaten by Marana 80-51 on Friday.

Tucson High Magnet School's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Rincon/University, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
