On Friday, the Niobrara County Tigers faced the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Niobrara County enjoyed a cozy 82-67 win over the Doggers. The victory was familiar territory for Niobrara County who now have four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Lingle-Fort Laramie had strong showings from Brody Roberts, who scored 22 points along with two steals, and Brady Cook, who scored 13 points along with seven blocks and six rebounds. Roberts hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ned Nelson, who scored eight points.
Niobrara County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
Niobrara County will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Crawford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 170th in Nebraska, while the Doggers are ranked tenth in Wyoming).
