The Hickman County Bulldogs''s game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a hard 35-21 fall against Mt. Pleasant. Hickman County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elisha Puckett, who rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Puckett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Jakyri Mcclure was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 179 yards while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Darien Meza was in the mix as well, providing Mt. Pleasant with two touchdowns.
Hickman County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Hickman County will head out on the road to face off against Harpeth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Harpeth is ranked 237th, while Hickman County is ranked 234th). As for Mt. Pleasant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loretto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loretto will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
