The Livermore Cowboys will be taking part in a tournament against the Alameda Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Livermore 3.3, Alameda 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Livermore barely beat Dublin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cowboys never let the Gaels get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cowboys considering their two-run performance the match before.

Livermore got a great performance from Kaci Norton as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Norton has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Livermore let Laine Macosky and Maggie Pyke run wild. Macosky scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Pyke went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. What's more, Macosky posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Aguilar, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Alameda and Bishop O'Dowd meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Dragons 5-4.
Mia Wong was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Alissa Smitheram was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Alameda hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.
Livermore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alameda, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Livermore hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Alameda struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Livermore came out on top in a nail-biter against Alameda when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
