The Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a rough 49-29 loss at the hands of Dominion Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Christian Academy in their matchups with Dominion Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Dominion Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Gebhart out in front who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Zink, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Dominion Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Dayton Christian at 2:30 p.m. on January 13, 2024. Dominion Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Temple Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
