The Shaw Raiders suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Hardaway at home and fell 62-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shaw in their matchups with Hardaway: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Shaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tiara Tucker. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with four steals. That was a full 64.3% of Shaw's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Shaw's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Hardaway, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Shaw won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cairo at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Cairo is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Hardaway, they will take on Northview at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Northview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Hardaway is ranked 49th).
