The O'Neill Eagles will be playing at home against the Pierce Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, O'Neill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Cedar Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for O'Neill in their matchups with Cedar Catholic: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite their loss, O'Neill saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Autumn Hilker, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Hilker, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, everything went Pierce's way against Hartington-Newcastle on Saturday as Pierce made off with a 47-24 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pierce.
O'Neill bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pierce, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
O'Neill took a serious blow against Pierce in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 68-33. Thankfully for O'Neill, Morgan Moeller (who scored 23 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
