Basketball Game Preview: Boyd Anderson Cobras vs. Blanche Ely Tigers

The Boyd Anderson Cobras will head out on the road to take on the Blanche Ely Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd Anderson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.

Boyd Anderson is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Northwestern just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 63-55 to the Bulls. While the Cobras didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulls 16-9 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Theodore Richardson, who posted seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Richardson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Deroche, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Boyd Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern only pulled down 11 offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Blanche Ely was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Broward Prep. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Eagles are ranked 138th).

Blanche Ely's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Boyd Anderson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Boyd Anderson couldn't quite finish off Blanche Ely when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 53-50. Can Boyd Anderson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
