Great Falls hasn't had much luck against Lamar recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Great Falls Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lamar Silver Foxes at 6:30 p.m. Great Falls is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
If Great Falls beats Lamar with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Great Falls walked away with a 7-3 victory over Westminster Catawba Christian on Thursday. While the Red Devils didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kamden Wood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jalen Robinson and Kelby Brantley did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson scored two runs and stole Three bases., while Brantley scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Robinson a new career-high. Colton Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lamar had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 8-4 win over Dillon on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Silver Foxes as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Tucker Watford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Lamar let Cody Barr and Hayden Timmons run wild. Barr scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Timmons scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ryan Hill, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Great Falls' win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Great Falls suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Lamar in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can Great Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
