Central dropped down to 17-7 on Wednesday, ending the team's 12-game streak of wins. They fell 5-1 to the Catholic Bears. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Catholic, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.

For Catholic's part, Reis Wascom tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Dekohta Jones was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Miles Auxt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

While Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
