The Highland Scots will challenge the Clovis North Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Highland barely beat Hanford West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Scots were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over the Huskies on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Scots sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Highland got a massive performance out of Nevaeh Rodriquez, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Rodriquez has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Gonzalez, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Highland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clovis North). Everything went their way against Liberty on Monday as they made off with a 20-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.
Sydney Kniss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Kniss was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zoey Thomas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season. Aubrey Zendejas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Highland's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for Clovis North, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-1.
Highland's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Scots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Clovis North, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Highland continue to outrun the ball?
