First Baptist Christian will be playing at home against the Homefires Flames at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
First Baptist Christian pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Salette Academy. It was the first time this season that First Baptist Christian let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Homefires came up short against First Baptist Christian back in December of 2023 and fell 61-50. Homefires has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Colin Chesnut, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Chesnut is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Rademacher, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Homefires struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
First Baptist Christian's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for Homefires, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
First Baptist Christian beat Homefires 61-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will First Baptist Christian repeat their success, or does Homefires have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
