On Saturday, the South Anchorage Wolverines faced the Soldotna Stars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Anchorage ended the year with a bang, routing Soldotna 45-25. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Anchorage.
Soldotna's loss came despite strong showings from Morgan Lemm and Hope Hillyer. Lemm scored six points along with six rebounds, while Hillyer scored six points along with five rebounds.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Soldotna, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
South Anchorage will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bartlett at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Soldotna and Kodiak will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
