Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Checotah). They blew past the Fort Gibson Tigers 16-6 on Monday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Checotah got a massive performance out of Mason Rainbolt, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Rainbolt has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Marshall, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Checotah pushed their record up to 7-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Fort Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.
Checotah will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
