Umatilla waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Sherman Huskies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 back in March.

Carter Griggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Griggs was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Umatilla let Rj Estrada and Dominick McCallister run wild. Estrada scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while McCallister got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave McCallister a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Xzavier Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole four bases.

Umatilla's record now sits at 7-2. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Umatilla is taking a road trip to take on Enterprise/Joseph at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Sherman, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pilot Rock at 12:00 p.m. on the 25th.
