Meanwhile, even though Hoffman Estates scored an imposing 13 runs last Thursday, Streamwood still came out on top. Streamwood sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 win over Hoffman Estates.
Streamwood also got a great performance from Josh Zamora as he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Riley Nosek was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Antonio Alanis, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.
Romeoville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Streamwood, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
