The Sanderson Spartans lost against the Middle Creek Mustangs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sanderson suffered a rough 62-36 loss at the hands of Middle Creek. Sanderson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Middle Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joi Pergerson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alysia Pergerson, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Middle Creek, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sanderson will challenge Cary at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Creek will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on November 29th.
