Basketball Game Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Calvary Christian Cougars

Scott has gone 7-2 against Calvary Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Scott Eagles will host the Calvary Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Scott is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Scott came up short against Pendleton County and fell 61-53. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scott's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaron Hampton, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jordan Clemons, who posted 11 points and five steals. Hampton has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Kaymon Coleman was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian hadn't done well against Heritage Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Calvary Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage Academy, sneaking past 52-49. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Scott, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything came up roses for Scott against Calvary Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 74-36 victory. Does Scott have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calvary Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
