The Blountstown Tigers waltzed into their match on Thursday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Port St. Joe 53-21 at home. Blountstown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.
Blountstown found their leader in underclassman Jill Davis, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Jalynn Copeland was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Port St. Joe's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of KK McNair, who scored 12 points along with two steals, and Carly Hatcher who scored two points along with two steals.
Blountstown's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Port St. Joe, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Blountstown will square off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cottondale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Tigers are ranked 196th). Port St. Joe is on the road again on Monday and plays the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Wewahitchka is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
