The Mica Mountain Thunderbolts will head out to take on the Mingus Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Mica Mountain got the win against Sabino by a conclusive 12-1. The Thunderbolts have beaten the Sabercats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sabercats has come to flipping the script.

Landen Kampmier looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mica Mountain is 2-1 when Kampmier allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-9-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Mica Mountain got a big performance out of Raydon Rocha, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Mikey Tanori also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Mica Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mingus hadn't done well against Coconino recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Marauders blew past the Panthers 14-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Marauders, who have now won four contests in a row.
Xzayvier Buckner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Buckner was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Wacker, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Silas Scott was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
Mica Mountain's record now sits at 8-10-1. As for Mingus, their record is now 8-13-1.
