On Monday, North Forney beat Ranchview 35-25. Given North Forney's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Ranchview is ranked 892nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ranchview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christina Mokom, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Simpson, who scored nine points.
North Forney's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Ranchview, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
North Forney will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Ranchview and Tyler will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th at. Tyler will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
