The snow was falling and the temperatures dipped below zero as the 14th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard passed through Wisconsin on Thursday, January 24 to recognize
Muskego (Wis.) High School and its football team for winning a state championship and earning a high national ranking.
Having upended Kimberly 24-21 in the
WIAAWI Division I state championship contest, the 14-0 Warriors claimed the first state football title in school history and earned the 139th ranking in
MaxPreps' National Rankings!

Overcoming major injuries early in the year, the Warriors battled on. Not afraid to set records, Muskego rushed for 4,752 yards, scored 60 total touchdowns and averaged 39.3 points per game!
Muskego's celebration included the recognition of alumni and seniors. Then, State Representative Chuck Wichgers of the 83rd Assembly District acknowledged the accomplishments of many before Scott Carlson introduced MaxPreps representative Sue Crawford, steering the spotlight over to the far end of the basketball court.
Cheers erupted from the crowd as Crawford highlighted the major accomplishments of the Warriors and reminded those in attendance that Muskego was one of only 50 football programs nationally to receive the prestigious Army National Guard national ranking trophy. Crawford then turned the program over to Specialist Jonah Lubsey of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, who commended the hard work and dedication of the Warriors and the Muskego coaching staff.
SPC Lubsey spoke briefly about how teamwork bumped the Warriors into the category of being one of the finest in the state, one of the greatest in the nation and so dominant that they received the prestigious Army National Guard national ranking trophy and a nationally ranked rafter banner. Head coach Ken Krause was unable to attend the celebration of Warrior football because he himself was receiving an award at the Pro Bowl. Assistant coaches Tyler Kunick, Ryan Lucchesi and Collin Smith were more than proud to share the award-winning evening with the Warriors.
It was an amazing night of celebration for the Muskego community, who takes great pride in their athletes and this football team. Taking pleasure in making their community proud, the Warriors raised the trophy to the fan base of over 700 who came out to cheer them on. Congratulations Muskego Warriors!!!! Click
