Hubbard hasn't had much luck against Jefferson Area recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Hubbard didn't have quite enough to beat Salem and fell 3-2.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Hubbard sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Hubbard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma TEtrick had 16 digs and two aces. TeTrick is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Sarah Brand was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Area came up short against Edgewood on Wednesday and fell 3-1.
While Jefferson Area had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19.
Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Jefferson Area, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Hubbard couldn't quite get it done against Jefferson Area in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
