Glenwood has gone 8-2 against Rochester recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Rochester will be up against a hot Glenwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Titans came out on top against Pleasant Plains by a score of 5-2 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly three runs.
Andrew Wahlbrink looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grady Mueller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Glenwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Plains only posted a batting average of .259.
Meanwhile, Rochester came up short against Coal City on Saturday and fell 6-2.
Breck Calvert was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gibson Warren, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Glenwood's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rochester, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-9-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Glenwood hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Rochester struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
