The Hooper Academy Colts will head out on the road to challenge the Evangel Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Hooper Academy ended up a good deal behind Edgewood Academy and lost 54-38.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Edgewood Academy 56-29. While losing is never fun, Evangel Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Edgewood Academy is ranked 53rd).
Hooper Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Hooper Academy came up short against Evangel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2018, falling 45-35. Can Hooper Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
