Blue Valley Northwest faced Blue Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Huskies took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Blue Valley Northwest's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Blue Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Blue Valley Northwest will venture away from home to square off against Raymore-Peculiar at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blue Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Huskies' contest: after the Huskies face off against Shawnee Mission West, they'll take on Blue Valley again on Tuesday.
