The Lodi Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the New Milford Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lodi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Lodi will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Garfield, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams put the hurt on the Boilermakers with a sharp 9-2 win on Thursday.

Jonas Martinez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Lodi's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-5-1 when he doesn't).
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emmanuel Rodriquez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Rodriquez has posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Milford). Everything went their way against Leonia on Friday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Like Lodi, New Milford also got a great game from a two-way player: Jesse Brophy. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Brophy has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Liam Block was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Andy Aviles, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
New Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Lodi's record now sits at 4-6-1. As for New Milford, their record is now 7-5.
