Monticello had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Monticello weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 34-39 to Cascade on Friday. If Monticello were expecting payback for the 14-34 loss against Cascade the last time the teams met, then they were shortchanged. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Monticello off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Cascade a 1-0 record.
Next week, Monticello take on Beckman at 7:30 PM. As for Cascade, they will face of against Benton. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up next week.
