The Blake Bears pushed their score all the way to 72 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 89-72 bruising from Cherry.
Cherry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Sundquist led the charge by scoring 30 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Sundquist has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Noah Asuma was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Cherry, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Blake will head out on the road to challenge Mounds Park Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mounds Park Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Blake is ranked 47th). As for Cherry, they will square off against Solon Springs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
