On Saturday, Genoa Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairfield Christian Academy, taking the game 44-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Genoa Christian Academy.
Genoa Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Myers, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Cody Griffey, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fairfield Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Sam Workman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Schmitz, who scored 9 points.
Even though they lost, Fairfield Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Genoa Christian Academy only pulled down two.
Genoa Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Genoa Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Harvest Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
