The Fairmont Firebirds will head out on the road to challenge the Lebanon Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairmont's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Beavercreek with a sharp 11-0 win. The game was the first time the Firebirds have beaten the Beavers on their field since April 2, 2019.

Rylee Sier and Jaylin Turner were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Sier tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Turner tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Sier went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Turner went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three RBI gave Sier a new career-high.
In other batting news, Paige Russell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Perdue, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fairmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beavercreek only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Lebanon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Panthers. Lebanon's victory was all the more impressive since the Panthers were averaging only 3.7 runs allowed on the season.
Sophia Sheidler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophie Abrams, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Jenna Callahan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Fairmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
Both Fairmont and Lebanon just can't seem to miss. The Firebirds have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Lebanon struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairmont was able to grind out a solid win over Lebanon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
