The Tuscarora Huskies will head out to take on the Woodgrove Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tuscarora was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Briar Woods 3-2.
Briar Woods' batters probably weren't too happy with Peyton Travis, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up five walks).
On the hitting side, Brileigh Bass was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Woodgrove put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Osbourn Park by a score of 11-6.
Virginia Dowell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taylor Harper, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Anderson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
Woodgrove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Woodgrove pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarora, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Tuscarora couldn't quite finish off Woodgrove in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Tuscarora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
