Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Skates Past Empire with Ease

Palo Verde waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 82-47 win over the Empire Ravens. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Kameron Pippen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Marquis Williams was another key player, going 8 of 9 en route to 17 points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Palo Verde was working as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Empire still got an impressive performance from Jalen Camacho, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Tanner, who put up nine points and six boards.

Palo Verde is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Empire, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Palo Verde will be playing in front of their home fans against Catalina at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Palo Verde knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Catalina likes a good challenge. As for Empire, they will welcome Andrada Polytechnic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Empire is facing Andrada Polytechnic at the right time seeing as Andrada Polytechnic is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
