Basketball Game Preview: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors

Having just played yesterday, the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins will jump right back in to play the John Paul II Golden Warrriors at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilton Head Prep is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Hilton Head Prep picked up another tournament win on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 49-22 stomp they got against Battery Creek.

Hilton Head Prep relied on the efforts of Courtney Campbell, who posted 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, and Brooke Heins, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists. The game was Campbell's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Cleary, who had 12 points.

Hilton Head Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, John Paul II entered their tilt with Bluffton on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 44-31.

John Paul II's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Hilton Head Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Hilton Head Prep came up short against John Paul II in their previous matchup on December 4th, falling 70-62. Can Hilton Head Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
