Petal is 2-8 against Brandon since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Petal Panthers will be playing at home against the Brandon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Petal came up short against Pearl and fell 59-49. Petal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Brandon waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They slipped by Meridian 69-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Brandon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Braylon Barnes, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds, and Nate White, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ottis Harrison, who scored seven points.
Petal's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Brandon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
