1A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Caverna's ANTHONY PHILLIPS recorded the longest rushing play in 1A District 2 this season in his game against Breckinridge County last week. PHILLIPS scampered for 81 yards on the play and finished with 79 on the day as his team defeated the Fighting Tigers.
The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Caverna's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Colonels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. PHILLIPS has thrown for 1,160 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while TREVOR STEPHENS has 35 catches for 569 yards. PHILLIPS also leads the league in rushing with 144 yards.
Kentucky Country Day made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,664 from 11,711. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-12 victory over Eminence last week.
