Saint Viator is 0-1 against Marmion since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Saint Viator Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Marmion Cadets at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 46-14, which was the final score in Saint Viator's tilt against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Friday. It was the first time this season that Saint Viator let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Marmion's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 45-0 loss at the hands of Joliet Catholic. While losing is never fun, Marmion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Joliet Catholic is ranked 23rd).
Saint Viator has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Marmion, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Saint Viator came up short against Marmion when the teams last played back in October of 2019, falling 14-10. Can Saint Viator avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
