Adding to the longest winning streak in Pacific View this week, Camarillo beat Hueneme 42-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Scorpions.
Channel Islands moved up to 515 from 556 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders were able to move up by defeating Pacifica 21-14.
Raymond Caldera was a force in the backfield as Oxnard defeated Rio Mesa.
Mike Moraga provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tritons fell to Channel Islands. He completed 16 passes for 209 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 31 yards. Moraga's favorite target this week was Deondre Vines, who caught 7 passes for 140 yards.
Geron Rogers threw for 182 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 14-17 with 1 interception.
Vines was the best receiver in the league this week as Pacifica lost to Gary Porter's team. Vines tallied 7 receptions for 140 yards. Daniel Moraga helped Pacifica's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 29 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Vines. The Pacifica star has 39 catches for 941 yards.
The Vikings' Adan Salas is within 50 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Raiders. So far this year, Salas has thrown for 1,950 yards with 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Mike Moon's team's Vines needs only 59 receiving yards against the Yellowjackets to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has garnered 39 catches for 941 yards.
Next week's game between Hueneme and Channel Islands will feature a good passing match up as Salas will test his arm against David Anderson's defensive ability.
At the moment, the Spartans are in fifth, while Camarillo is in first.
Brett Davis' team fell to Jack Willard's team 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
