AAA District 4 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Farragut's Jackson Fain rumbled for the longest rushing play in AAA District 4 this season in his game against Bearden last week. Fain's team fell to the Bulldogs as he sprinted for 90 yards on the play and finished with 220 in all.
Maryville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Knoxville Catholic, 38-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Rebels.
Farragut's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bryan Phillips threw for 113 yards and Jake Bruce had 55 yards receiving. Christian Jetton helped Farragut's passing attack out by catching four balls for 35 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Nicky Frizen of Bearden is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1115. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Eddie Courtney's team's Fain has rushed for 746 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hamilton, Lucas. The Lenoir City star has 22 catches for 398 yards.
A big matchup in AAA District 4 this week will be when Maryville takes on the Admirals. George Quarles' team is in first place, while Farragut is in sixth place.
The Rebels took down the Fighting Irish 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
