The Everett Seagulls will square off against the Snohomish Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Everett has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight defeats, while Snohomish will come in with three straight victories.
Meadowdale hit Everett with a five-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Seagulls fell 9-6 to the Mavericks.
Conor Veals was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Veals was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Evan Brunni was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Everett's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 1-13 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Snohomish). They never let Marysville-Pilchuck get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Like Everett, Snohomish also got a great game from a two-way player: Rider Walsh. Throwing, Walsh tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Reve LeRoux tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Walsh went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while LeRoux got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Blake Smith looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Davis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Chase Clark was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Snohomish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Everett's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Snohomish, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
