Softball Recap: Buckingham Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Buckingham barely beat Amelia County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 9-1 victory on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The win (which was Buckingham's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Amelia County, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Buckingham is set to square off against their familiar foe Lunenburg Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.3, the Chargers 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Amelia County will take on rival Nottoway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
