The Scotlandville Hornets lost against the Ponchatoula Green Wave back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Scotlandville took a serious blow against Ponchatoula, falling 78-48. While losing is never fun, Scotlandville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Ponchatoula is ranked fifth).
Despite the loss, Scotlandville had strong showings from Jamal Drewery, who scored 19 points along with 5 assists, and Trelen Washington, who scored 16 points. Drewery scored a full 39.6% of Scotlandville's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Dotson, who scored 6 points.
Scotlandville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Ponchatoula, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Scotlandville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Denham Springs at 6:30 p.m. on November 30th. Denham Springs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Ponchatoula, they will be playing at home against East Ascension at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
