It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Briar Woods Falcons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Riverbend 48-18 at home. The result was nothing new for Briar Woods, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Brady Carmical was a one-man wrecking crew for Briar Woods as he rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Carmical was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Trey Dudley, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Briar Woods' victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Riverbend, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Briar Woods will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Stone Bridge will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Riverbend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
