Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Boca Ciega should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Largo on the road at 7:30 PM. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Boca Ciega skips in on three wins and Largo on four.
Boca Ciega took their match against Seminole last Friday by a conclusive 41-7 score. Senior Alfonso Franklin, who rushed for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Boca Ciega's success.
Meanwhile, Largo put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the matchup and then some with a 35-0 victory over Countryside. The Largo offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Their wins bumped Boca Ciega to 3-2 and Largo to 4-1. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
